New Adventures in Lloringhold Overview: Where it All Begins



This is simply a blog of game sessions so Lloringhold adventurers past and present, far and near can read about the current adventures in the Lloringhold campaign.  And so those who are fatally bored can perhaps wander onto it and maybe be entertained for a brief few moments.  Maybe.

Legends of Lloringhold is my own ruleset designed for quick and easy playability.  Written by myself based on my own thoughts and feelings after 30-odd years of playing role-playing games and slightly fewer years of running games.  Once I get the rules book for players in a final (?) format, it'll be for sale possibly both in print and pdf formats.  I'll probably announce that here and on other Lloringhold blogs.

These are plain and simple writeups of games.  Some things have been left out accidentally or intentionally, but there is enough information within to get the idea of the game's pace, setting, and the people and events of note.  These are generally from the omniscient viewpoint as well, though few spoiler-secrets are revealed along the way.  I have a backlog of these, so they will be posted roughly as I feel like it, though the backlog will likely be posted fairly quickly so I can add new writeups in their proper places.

Blah blah blah.  Anyway, on to post the first few.  Oh, and the session date will be posted as the title.  That way I can make sure I post in chronological order.

December-January

The Descent into the Depths (aka the DM, with his laptop mostly back into service, now plays catch-up) Since we last saw the adventurers they have learned of and gone in search of an item called the Tome of Prophecy, spending some time in an unusual tower before finding themselves in an even more unusual pocket plane where, after dealing with odd gravity, gardens that weren't, animated topiary monsters, and finally being 1/12 their normal size and trying to get through a huge study they found themselves before a withered and wasted very old but still alive man in his office behind the study. The old man made them very uncomfortable but, after deciding that maybe the time was right, he did hand over to them the Tome of Collected Prophecies. He also was amused by Merrick's acquisition of most of the blackened skull of a human-sized person, and he told Merrick some of the very uncomfortable stories behind the skull before sending the party elsewhere, like minor deities do. ...

November 5, 2017 (yes, late, being busy sucks)

Once back in town the adventurers take some time to take care of some business. LaVeya has earned enough experience to train to her next level as a druid (4 th level spells! Woohoo!) while Ivan has decided that he wants a little more variety in his life and begins the basic work of learning to be a member of the clergy.
