Real Life (Gets In The Way Sometimes)
Dog-sitting duties and limited participation due to graduation season meant that tonight was a non-standard game night. Since I was tardy we spent time rolling up and creating 5th edition D&D characters to play through Tomb of Horrors. Since character creation takes much longer than characters survive in the Tomb, it seemed like a waste of time. Just kidding, mostly. We finished creating our characters and took our first steps into the Tomb which were excessively slow and cautious because very little inspires paranoia and analysis paralysis like the phrase "Tomb of Horrors". No one died, quite, but we didn't get too far in either. We tried not to meta our way through either which meant we had to be excessively paranoid. But paranoia isn't really the proper term since the entire tomb IS out to get us!
After a little exploration and time to go for the 5th ed DM and a player who rode with him we reverted to my high level campaign for an hour or so and the "What would you like to be doing during the months of down time you have?" questions. Some questions were asked, plans were laid, and steps were taken toward the future of the high level party.
For fun, each player who was there tonight gets 500 xp to give to one of the characters of their choice.
