The Tomb and the Proving Grounds Because it was family birthday weekend I was late to the game, so Nick started with Tomb of Horrors which continued after I showed up with us finding and clearing the (false) tomb of its monster. Whee-hawken! And we'll be back again for the later part perhaps. Maybe. The Proving Grounds From my left: Zack playing LaVeya the human druid Sarai playing Desorna the elven axe-maiden fighter Hunter playing Strix the elven magic-user Matt playing Mirin the human spellsword Chris of the Crown playing Deckard the Human ex-fighter thief, and the Most Munificent DM playing Ydee, Catherine's half-elven thief We then returned to the low level Lloringhold party who were stuck on the fourth floor of the Proving Grounds. Because of DM kindness, the fourth level map was oriented properly so the party mapper wouldn't have to have half a dozen maps on half a dozen different pieces of scrap paper and could know where...

Real Life (Gets In The Way Sometimes) Dog-sitting duties and limited participation due to graduation season meant that tonight was a non-standard game night.  Since I was tardy we spent time rolling up and creating 5th edition D&D characters to play through Tomb of Horrors.  Since character creation takes much longer than characters survive in the Tomb, it seemed like a waste of time.  Just kidding, mostly.  We finished creating our characters and took our first steps into the Tomb which were excessively slow and cautious because very little inspires paranoia and analysis paralysis like the phrase "Tomb of Horrors".  No one died, quite, but we didn't get too far in either.  We tried not to meta our way through either which meant we had to be excessively paranoid.  But paranoia isn't really the proper term since the entire tomb IS out to get us! After a little exploration and time to go for the 5th ed DM and a player who rode with him we rever...

Continuing the Castle in the Sky A delayed start for Mother's Day. The adventurers of the day from left to right: Nilo playing Kag the Human Magic-User Original Matt playing Mirin the Human Spellsword Chris playing Deckard the Human Ex-Fighter Thief and, by DM Suggestion, Merrick the Human Fighter Sarai playing Desorna the Elven Fighter Hunter playing Strix the Elven Magic-User Zack playing LaVeya the Human Druid And the DM once again playing Ydee, Catherine's Half-Elven Thief The party began in Ivy's room in the Halls of Wandering in the Castle, having slept and regained spell points and party members who had been vanished by the strange magics of the Castle the previous game day. Or so goes the usual explanation for why characters appeared and disappeared. After deciding to forgo an entire day's rest so the druid could do her healing and then sleep and regain even more spell points for her new level, the party hea...

Return to the Castle in the Sky A somewhat delayed start as we had to wait to reach quorum. Then it happened and everything began. The adventurers of the day from left to right: Nick playing Merrick the Human Fighter Original Matt playing Nova Halfnote III the Halfling Cleric then playing the Human Spellsword after the druid showed up. Thomas playing the Elven Fighter who isn't Desorna's anything. Chris playing Deckard the Human Ex-Fighter Thief Sarai playing Desorna the Elven Fighter Zack playing LaVeya the Human Druid And the DM once again playing Ydee, Catherine's Half-Elven Thief The party began in the large town of Ruinheath where they acquired supplies and made connections for their journey to the Castle to find enough treasure to appease the recently awakened Great One, an archaic black dragon. With twenty two days remaining before the deadline, the party was hoping to acquire a large fortune in a short time to avoid seeing ...
